Golf Terms and Conditions
Handicap Certificates
While we do not require group members to produce Handicap
certificates we do
expect that all golfers are able to play to a reasonable standard and
possess a
basic knowledge of the rules and etiquette of golf. We reserve the
right to ask
groups to move from the Championship course to the Dartmouth course if
their
abilities are causing delays and difficulties on the course.
Speed of Play
Players are expected to play in fourballs particularly at weekends.
A round on the Championship course should take 4hours 15 minutes.
Most problems are encountered on the first 9 holes the 4th in
particular. In order
to make good time the 5th should be reached in 1 hour and the front 9
completed
in approximately 2 hours.
Any group failing to keep up with the match in front and who
consequently lose a
hole must stand aside and let the following group play through.
We do find that large parties are reluctant to do this, often
resulting in play
slowing unnecessarily and becoming spread out.
Please think about your pairings to ensure slower players are moved
along by
faster ones.
In the event of unacceptable slowness we reserve the right to ask
groups to walk
holes to catch up with play.
Dress Code
All golfers must be appropriately dressed and wear spiked golf
shoes. The
following are forbidden Collarless Shirts (Tee Shirts), Jeans, Track
Suits or Shell
Suits. Shorts must be tailored and of acceptable length. Tied waists
are not
permitted.
Alcohol
We have a no alcohol policy on the course
Rules and Restrictions
It is each golfers responsibility to make themselves familiar with
and obey any
rules or restrictions which may be in force regarding the use of
buggies, trolleys
etc.
Failure to do this could result in the buggy being forfeited without refund.
Damage /Behaviour
The group organiser must accept responsibility for the behaviour of
the group
and for any damage to the course, golf buggies or equipment caused by
any
member of the group if the offending person cannot be identified.
Dartmouth Golf and Country Club reserve the right to remove from
the course
without refund anyone who is in breach of the above conditions.
