Dartmouth Pottery
Dartmouth Pottery, situated in the south Devon town of Dartmouth, was established in 1947 and is still operating. Their products are similar in many respects to traditional Devon wares. To many people 'Dartmouth Pottery' means mottoware, gurgling jugs and monochrome flower holders. Yet their products were infinitely more diverse, ranging from beautiful art pottery to finely moulded toby jugs and sporting tankards. More recently, the company's moulded wares included money boxes and models in the form of animals and birds. These can be found at antique fairs and flea markets and make an interesting area of collecting at 'affordable' prices.
